A Glory From the Earth

Release date

Author
Brian AD
Genre
Dance/Techno
Description
This features the Free Alpha VST synth from LinPlug. I also use the Aggressor 303 and the Guru4. I worked on this 5 years ago and haven't thought of anything else to do with it. It is probably the best thing I have made, so it is all downhill from here! I am not sure what genre it fits into since I have never been good at figuring that out. I always just called it "that crappy techno I make". Feel free to let me know what I should call it. As I worked on this, it evolved into two different pieces. At some point I might share the other one when I think of a title for it! I finally came up with a title for this one. I just stole a small piece of a line from one of my favorite poems by William Wordsworth:

"But yet I know, where'er I go,
That there hath pass'd away a glory from the earth."

I must say that this is very nice. Indeed. If you can post a link to a better version (96kbps and 32khz is a bit poor for quality check). Very good work here.
  • Thanks for the nice comment! If you still feel like checking it out, I think this link will work. It is not much better but it is the highest quality one I have. https://home.comcast.net/~bdimock/Music/Brian AD - A Glory From the Earth.mp3 I keep trying to add this comment and it keeps messing up the link. There should be no space between the "Music/" and the B in "Brian". It keeps putting a space there for some reason.
  • Nice one! ...a more kicking bd would be good imo. (maybe it's enough to put it 2 or 3 db louder)

Listened the hi quality version. I must say : very nice. Like said by Lizard, a bit more of bass drum, and also some other variations from 04:00 (another pairs of breaking chords, or maybe only playing bass line, drum and warm pads for 4..8 bar), just for giving a little movement. The break at 03:05 remember me something from J. M. Jarre. Good work.
  • This would actually go well in a DJ set. Extremely well! I agree on a little more variation at parts or something to fill them in like a woosh or backward cymbal etc.
  • Thanks for the comments and suggestions! I really do appreciate it. Some day when I have some time (yeah right!) I will open this back up and try to work on the things you suggested.

I agree with all comments above. Great song!! But need a better kick (and maybe a deeper bassline too). Thanks!
