This is an epic orchestral track. Brass, strings, piano, percussion, etc. There's a slightly higher quality version of this on my site as I had to re-encode this at a lower bitrate to be able to upload it here.

  • I like the brass. I dislike the strings. It is a good track. Though it needs more realism and ... egh.... Where's the orchestral reverb? I like it but it's not that good. Don't worry, people with EWQL Symphonic Orchestra tend to screw up as well! I hate that because my EWQLSO version of "Mary has a little lamb" sounded ten times better then their epic tracks full of crap. :P But your track isn't crap. But I hope you'll improve it.

I like it very much. It reminds me alot of the music for the first game of Unreal. I wanted to write my own maps for this game, so I got into modplugtracker (my first tracker experiences). For the maps, I didn't get very far But anyway, I love this music
  • vacuum
oops, to clarify, I'm in love with the music of that game more than coding maps, and I needed modplugtracker to make music (.s3m) to play in the game
  • Sounds good SciFi ... very good mastering ... (I still try to reach that level) ...
  • serg
it's good but could be better. by the way music in 1st unreal is in 'umx' not 's3m', didn't know thad modplug loads it. but it is very good indeed, maybe the only reason this game was remembered. i rendered some favorite tracks from the game to mp3 using xmplayer, and love to listen to them sometimes on my player.
  • vacuum
Most 'umx' files result in a 's3m' file after converting them back to their original state afaik. BTW here's the unreal umx + a version of modplug: http://members.home.nl/vacuum/Unreal%20Music.zip
  • vacuum
The zip is about 20 MB and about 50 tracks. You can convert umx to s3m and s3m to umx with the unreal editor.

your production quality always fascinates me... but I feel that something is missing for this one to really grab me... it does sound like an epic video game or movie. like a loading screen for my next round of Battlefield 2142. :P Pro work as always.
  • vaisnava
oh yes... btw, you get a 9.999 for sure
  • serg
@ vacuum: thanks for clarifying this. btw deus ex music is good as well. as i remember it was composed by the same person.

Another incredible track from Hamst3r ! I will check the high quality version at your site. But anyway I dream to build tracks like you. Bravo !
  • Spiritcatcher
great setup, as always now the but's : more bass. seriously. this track needs a bass instrument. you may hide it in the composition by running it parallel to the "drums", but there needs to be bass. second, there's no dialogue between your lead instruments. they just follow of after another ... also, you know about that classic sonata stuff, don't you ? theme, exposition/elaboration, reprise. you got a nice theme there. now elaborate i would ask you to let me work on it, but i know my crappy pc would belly up anyway ...
