Description
another reconstruction of an old song sketch/fragment. no original mp3 for this one.

uploading for first feedback before putting it in final shape. points currently on my 2do list for the song:
- background pad will be changed to something calmer and swelling more slowly
- lead will be changed; something more plucky, maybe combined with a pad
- some fill-ins(?) at the bridge points (especially from the slower to the quicker parts) to create tension; tips?

as always, grateful for feedback of any kind

I probably cant offer much advice. Is this a soundtrack for an 80s movie remake..just kidding.. I would possibly use some drum retriggers put some kind of bass in to fill in the breaks that you add. but the lead change is needed to make the song less like the old lifetime movie songs which were repetative. Just a few more tweaks and it would sound so much better this track could also be more punchy and have some filters to give it some crispness .. maybe use compression on some of the instruments..

thanks, 6after7. I guess I watched too many movies in the 80s don't know those old lifetime movies you're referring to, though. you're right, I also have the feeling it can sound much better. I'm not sure I understand the enhancement by the compression you mentioned. make some instruments louder? let's see which tips I can apply. and thanks again.
  • yeah, background pad would be nice maybe a choir from time to time, too and perhaps a self-made counter-melody (piano)

Interesting theme, I agree about the 80's flavor. A pad would be cool for sure. The sound is clear. I think it could be fatter and deeper, like adding a bit more low frequencies to the whole sound. And a bigger kick wouldnt hurt (bigger not louder). Using a reverb on the snare may be cool too and make it less loud and less in front.
