I would try to change the sax with, perhaps, a pan flute or so

Yes. It's hard to find a suitable envelope and a good sounding replacement.
I am curious about your new version.
By the way: I am missing a feature at buzztune.org: It would be nice to have a feature which adds a new version to a thread and bringing up the older thread onto the top of the song list without replacement, like a version history.

@mag: I think the Sax isn' t that Bad you should mix it extremely more upfront and use your Special Soundfont and the whole rhythm-section a bit more in the Background I think It's more Jazz then ...
