Description
One day I accidentally loaded an EXE file into winamp only to find some interesting sounds. Years later (NOW) as I was drifting off to sleep I had an idea. I searched my computer for all executables and loaded them into a winamp playlist. The EXE-s that produced sounds I liked were loaded into audacity (yes audacity and winamp will load executables oddly enough)

I took the samples of the sections that appealed to me from Itunes.exe - Frecell.exe - Dpvsetup.exe - Calc.exe - Dxdiag.exe Mci32.exe - Moviemk.exe - Soundman.exe - Mscomct.exe and Zenmap.exe.

I then used Utracker and Dex Disorder as well as BTD Stutter and created this track using the samples ripped from the executables.

The shitty part is my BMX file wont load anymore and says "invalid file"

You can dowload the samples I created here executable samples.rar

I would be extremely interested in any music you create using this method of sampling. Feel free to used these samples or give it a try. You can create some nice sounds for breakbeat.

hmm that's true... I tried myself a remix. Not bad, but also not good yet. But really interesting sounds We'll see where I get. Probably I need to add also a snare drum.

not only is this a really original idea but it sounds amazing, really interesting noises. very glitchy. the track itself is very atmospheric. i might have a go at using these samples one day
