  • Cool theme!! And good vocals (put them a little more in front, 2 or 3 db would be good I guess). Here some points to the sound. Put the pluck a little more to the right. And maybe split its single columns/melodies (so that the first melody is more on the left side, and the next stuff comes in more on the right, or similar). The bass from 1.28 on needs some more deep frequencies (and here and there some accents like a longer note or a different ryhthm) (erm, the bassline in the mid is totally ok) . The closed hihat is a little loud imo.

Cool stuff yeah. Is it a Erika Badu's sample ? Lizard pointed out some lacks, to me the most important is that the song needs more bass, more presence, being phatter. It's too thin as it is. But the compo is excellent.
  • sounds great here the vocals are also a bit to quiet here.. make them louder and give some FX like an pointed set delay or a long reverb. as amg says the compo is exillent
  • Nice work Toastone! Awesome vibe, very summer almost Caribbean Sounds a bit light, Could use a bigger kick drum to give it some depth (Use an EQ3 to boost the Low Mid in the snare to match the intensity of a new kick). The break itself has a really nice roll to it and suits the theme, the 808ish closed hat is a bit high in the mix and could also use a bit of volume modualtion to settle it into the rest of the break. An open hat will also help the break slide a bit. Add compression with a reasonably short attack (Just enough to let the kick "punch" and snare "crack") over the entire break mix... bake for three hours on high and the rest of the Mix should almost do itself.
